It's Peel Season!
You may be asking, “Beth, what does that even mean?” or “What even is a flippin’ chemical peel cause that shiz sounds scary AF?”
Ohhhh my darling, buckle up! You are about to become the expert in chemical peels you didn’t even know you wanted to be.
The Mayo Clinic describes a chemical peel as “A procedure in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove the top layer to varying degrees. They are used to treat wrinkles, discolored skin, scars and other skin concerns. Peels can be done at different depths, from light to deep. Deeper peels offer more dramatic results but also take longer to recover from”.
PEEL OFFERINGS AT MBH
Please note that for the integrity of our practices at Midwest Beauty House and your skin, we do not offer any extreme peeling services. We will adjust peels according to your skin's delicate nature resulting in a safe, comfortable and beautiful result.
Please keep in mind that all of our peel options are recommended in a series of 3 to 6 peels (weekly or bi-weekly) for optimum results. All new clients MUST have a consultation prior to your first peel to discuss contraindications. You must also discontinue at home retinoid use at least 72 hours prior to your appts.
After your treatment, your skin may be slightly pink or mildly irritated. (PLEASE NOTE: It doesn’t happen to everyone but IT CAN HAPPEN.) Treated skin can take one to seven days to heal. We will discuss aftercare in detail. If you are not willing to do what is needed for your skin at home (gentle cleansing, keeping hydrated inside and out, and most importantly SPF!), then please, DO NOT get any kind of peel.
Results can always vary but things you can expect to see are: improved skin texture, a brighter, more even tone, a lessening of acne and fine lines, and plumper, more hydrated appearance to your skin.
Congrats! You are now fully rolling in mild chemical peel knowledge! Of course, if you should have any other burning skincare or service questions, you can always reach me at beth@midwestbeautyhouse.com .
And remember, time spent on yourself is never wasted!
Hope to see you soon at Midwest Beauty House.
